Dogs of Creation
Wellington County Museum & Archives
Our Challenge: In Phase 1, the goal was to create a modern brand with a historic feel for the Wellington County Museum and Archives, a national historic site. In Phase 2 of the project, we undertook workflow digitization and database architecture to develop a solution for bringing the Tweedsmuir history books online.
Our Solution: For the branding of the site, we created a wonderful colour palette with a historic feel that became a backdrop for the sepia toned images from the museum's archives. We chose to implement the BDS content management system because content in several sections required frequent updates. The Tweedsmuir history books were brought to life online and archived in a database that is fully searchable by the public. This was made possible through the creation of a digitized workflow, which utilized Adobe Acrobat to archive meta data.
Our Achievements: The site has received excellent feedback from visitors to the museum, artists and researchers. Museum staff are now able to quickly and easily update their exhibits and events, ensuring that the site is always current. We also think it's great that the Tweedsmuir History archive is now being used in the classroom - making history relevant - now that's cool.
